I am a graduate of Merrimack College in North Andover Mass and have a M Ed from Salem State College. I taught second grade for 8 years in Mass beforemoving to Ohio. We moved to Redford in 1970 and joined Our Lady of Loretto Church where I was on the Worship Committee, Pastoral Council, Lector and EME, and brought Holy Communion to the sick.
I was a server at Bill Knapps in Farmington about 12 years while working on my MAPS at Sacred Heart Seminary. After being certified in Christian Service and being hired as the Christian Service Coordinator here at OLOW in 1996 I found little time to continue taking classes. I have a level 3 national certification in Pastoral Ministry. I also happily joined OLOW in 1996.
My responsibilities: I am the contact person as a Vincentian for all who
come to the parish with any needs as food, financial or private prayer.
We are so grateful for all the donations of food and money to help them.
Each year our parish hosts ChristNet the downriver homeless rotating
shelter. It will be here the week of April 27th and we need numerous
volunteers to make it a week in which our guests feel welcomed and loved.
Our monthly Ministry of Prayer letter is for all who want to pray for the
spiritual needs of the parish. Fr. Macey gives us our intercessory prayer
intentions monthly. This is open to all ages.
Most months we have a Heritage Dinner to celebrate the different cultures in our parish. Let me know if you want to celebrate your roots.
Each Lent we have soup suppers after the 6pm Tuesday Mass followed by a talk.
Hospitality is very important in a large parish. We provide coffee, bagels,
donuts, rolls after all the Sunday Masses.
At our parish picnic we have a Silent Auction each year to help the parish.
I am so blest to serve the Lord in His people who come to my office. What a joy to be part of His plan to bring others closer to Him. Call me anytime..
