Fr. Rick was born on September 23, 1948. He grew up along the shores of Lake St. Clair in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, attended public grade schools in the Lakeshore School District, and began religious education at St. Gertrude Catholic Church.  His family became charter members of St. Margaret Church, and he made his First Communion and Confirmation there.  He attended Sacred Heart Seminary high school and college and went to St. John’s Seminary for the theologate, the last four years of education.  His diaconal year was at St. Martin dePorres Church in Warren, where he was ordained by Bishop Schoenherr.  His first priestly assignment was at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Detroit but was reassigned as Associate Pastor at Guardian Angels Church in Clawson.  My first pastorate was at Christ the Redeemer Church in Gingellville.  He studied Scripture for four years after that, and returned as pastor of St. Paschal Baylon Church in Taylor (about to be joined with St. Cyril Church now).  On July 1, 1999, He became the fourth pastor of Our Lady of the Woods Church.  Fr. Rick also teaches Scripture part time at Sacred Heart Major Seminary and Ss. Cyril & Methodius Seminary.
