Coordinator Youth Ministry for middle school & high school youth. I am also the Coordinator for the High School Confirmation program. Began helping in the Youth Ministry program as a volunteer in 1995. Hired part time to Coordinate Youth Ministry & Confirmation in 1998, eventually hired as full time staff.
I enjoy my ministry with the teens, they have blessed my life in so many ways. Each summer our teens go on a mission trip. Our mission trips have included the Menominee Indian Reservation in Wisconsin & the past two years a trip to New Orleans to help build after Hurricane Katrina. They have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity during the summer months. We volunteer at the Winter Special Olympics in Traverse City each January/February. Our high school teens attend a number of Catholic Youth Conferences (local and in other states). They also participate in World Youth Day. We have been to Toronto and Germany for WYD and our now preparing to go to Sydney, Australia this summer (July 2008). These are just a few of the things our teens participate in there are many more.
Our meetings our held on Sunday evenings September-May. All middle school and high school youth are invited and encouraged to join us. We have a great time!
I am married to Don, 28 years. We have three children, now young adults. Our youngest son was killed in a car/train accident in 2003 when he was 18 years old, a senior in high school. I also have a dog, Kylie.
I am certified level 3 in Youth Ministry and have my Basic Diploma in Pastoral Ministry from Sacred Heart Seminary. I continue to take classes and attend workshops so I can be the best Youth Ministry for our teens and parish.
