Anointing of the Sick

By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them.  The Catechism of the Catholic Church #1499

The anointing of the sick is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, especially near the time of death. If you are infirm because of age or chronic serious illness, facing medical procedures, e.g. surgery, chemotherapy tests, or suffering severe mental or emotional stress you should be anointed. The illness should be of a serious nature but not necessarily life-threatening.

Anointing of the Sick takes place monthly on the second Friday after the 9:00 AM Mass.

Arrangements may also be made for a priest to visit hospital or home to provide the sacrament. Contact the Parish to arrange a visit. In the event of an after hours emergency, call the Parish Office and enter extension 107 for the pastor.
